The Kiki Clay Club studio operates within Mud and Wick Ceramics, a spacious 1600 sq ft pottery studio nestled in the vibrant Perez Art District of Cathedral City, California. Club members enjoy access to:
A cone 5 mid-fire studio
Our studio fires at mid-range temperature (cone 5), which works beautifully for both beginners and experienced potters. We love the vibrant glazes and reliable results this firing method gives us. New to pottery? No problem—we'll explain everything as you go.
A wide variety of clay bodies
We carry a curated selection of cone 5 clay bodies from Laguna Clay Company. All clay is purchased in-house only, ensuring perfect compatibility with our glazes and firing specifications. Firing fees are included in the cost of each bag of clay—no per-piece measuring or additional charges in our club.
Reservable pottery wheels
In our studio, wheel time is easily reserved through our online app—no waiting, no hovering. We have six brand new ClayBoss pottery wheels, each capable of centering up to 100lbs of clay. Every wheel is reversible for right or left-handed throwing and controlled by an intuitive foot pedal.
Reservable work spaces
Our hand-building table has eight reservable stations for you. It's the perfect space to connect with fellow members. It's designed for collaboration and community.
Large slab roller
Our stand-alone slab roller is perfect for hand-building. In just a few turns of the wheel you can get uniform slabs of clay.
Community tools, forms & ware boards
Members and students get access to our full range of community tools—wedging tables, hand-building supplies, throwing equipment, ware boards, and everything you need to create.
Studio glazes & glazing area
We offer a curated selection of cone 5 dipping glazes and underglazes selected to work seamlessly with our clay bodies and firing process. Club members can also bring their own commercial cone 5 compatible glazes to use on their work.
Clay clean up sinks
We maintain two dedicated clay cleanup sinks that let us recycle clay waste and minimize our environmental impact.
Plenty of storage
We have racks and racks of assigned storage space for our members as well as our students. We also have dedicated areas for storing your clay so you aren't taking up valuable shelf space!
Member events
Members can showcase work at open-to-the-public events like Perez Art District Art Walks and Desert Open Studios weekend. Develop your craft through member-led power hours, workshops, and monthly Kiki gatherings where we celebrate victories and embrace the creative journey together. We're more than a studio—we're a community where you belong.
